11/16/2021 (Permalink)

As winter approaches and the temperature is starting to drop, it is important to note that frozen pipes in your home are a possibility! If a pipe bursts, it can potentially leave 10,000 gallons of water in your home! There is a misconception that because the water is moving inside the pipes it can not freeze, but that is NOT the case. Below are some tips for you to prepare/prevent your pipes from freezing. Just something to note, if one pipe has froze it is likely that others have/will also.

  • Insulate your pipes- this is your best option in preventing a pipe from freezing and bursting
  • Keep outside doors/garage closed
  • Keep the thermostat consistent
  • Leave the heat on
  • Open interior doors
